Dr. Shapiro obtained his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1988. He completed his internship and Orthopedic Surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 1993, followed by a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Tufts/New England Medical Center in 1994.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Shapiro has performed over 2600 Shoulder surgeries and 3600 Knee surgeries, establishing himself as an expert in his field. His exceptional work has earned him recognition, including the Patient Safety Excellence Award and a place on the Health Grades Honor Roll. Additionally, Dr. Shapiro has authored numerous publications and delivered presentations on various orthopedic topics.

Beyond his private practice, Dr. Shapiro has held notable positions such as the former Chief of Surgery at Bethesda Memorial Hospital. He has also served as the team physician for the Florida Launch, a Major League Lacrosse team.

Dr. Shapiro is affiliated with esteemed medical institutions, including Bethesda Memorial Hospital, Delray Medical Center, Boca Regional Hospital, and Delray Beach Ambulatory Center. He is a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedics and an active member of the Palm Beach Medical Society and the Florida Orthopedic Society.
